As Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals FC continue to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month, the Club wants to remind all of its fans, staff and players that they are never alone. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

In collaboration with Club partner, Intermountain Health, here is how they are supporting mental health in Utah:

1. Online Support Options

Behavioral health clinics and online support options, including Connect Care, virtual appointments anywhere in Utah, Idaho or Nevada, and Mindfulness, free guided mindfulness classes, are available through Intermountain Health. These support options can be helpful in addressing a multitude of mental health concerns: anxiety, depression, drug and alcohol use, general mental health, problems at work, relationship problems, suicidal thoughts and behavior, and trauma.

2. Treatment Programs

Behavioral Health Access Centers offer immediate crisis treatment, observation, and fast access to mental health treatment from licensed behavioral health professionals. Intermountain Health offers psychiatric and crisis care for people who are 18-years-old and up. Their access centers are ideal for people who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

Intermountain Health has four types of Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinics which offer high-quality care for adults, teens, and kids. They are able to diagnose and treat several health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and more. They offer several treatment methods like counseling, psychiatry and mindfulness courses.

Dayspring is an Intermountain program dedicated to helping people recover from substance use disorders. This is done by building strong coping skills and developing ways to resist drug or alcohol use. Dayspring gives patients access to psychiatry, primary care, and family medicine to make sure patients get the best care.

The Behavioral Health Unit is an area of the hospital designed to stabilize someone with a mental health emergency. The main goal of the unit is to provide a safe and secure place where people can receive treatment to move past a crisis.

Behavioral Health In Primary Care is a service provided through Intermountain Health via your primary care provider. They use a team-based approach to our healthcare through programs such as Mental Health Integration, Collaborative Care, and Personalized Primary Care. These work together to address your unique healthcare needs.

Intensive Outpatient Program for Behavioral Health was established to help individuals who require treatment of greater intensity than traditional individual psychotherapy which is often once weekly or once every other week. MH-IOP allows individuals to remain in their communities while receiving treatment. Often, MH-IOP can be provided as a higher level of care, rather than the most intense level of care which involves inpatient psychiatric hospitalization or a residential treatment facility.
