Bellin Health, Gundersen Health System to become Emplify Health
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) – Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System announced today they will become Emplify Health, after finalizing their merger in December of 2022.
“Drawn from ‘empathy,’ defined as ‘feeling aware of another’s emotions’ and ‘amplify,’ which means ‘increase,’ Emplify is a new word created to reflect a united goal of increasing access, creating a culture of empathy and enhancing population health outcomes for the patients and communities we serve,” said Scott Rathgaber, CEO, Bellin and Gundersen Health System in a news release.
Over the next several months the brand will be incorporated into the health system. All Bellin and Gundersen hospitals and clinics will change their name to Emplify Health, but entities such as Gundersen Medical Foundation, The Bellin Health Foundation and other foundations associated with the other hospitals will not be changing at this time, the news release said.
The funds received by each foundation will go towards what they were intended for by the donors at the time of their donation.
According to the news release, patients of Emplify Health will still receive care with the same providers and staff at the same locations they’ve been using.
Rathgaber said he expects it will take several years to fully transition to Emplify Health.
